Gosta das manhas, tal como o pai!

It's true
I'm 2 months old today.
And as a gift, my parents gave me two injections to my bottom. They are lovely, these parents of mine! I have to say, I didn't enjoy the experience at all. Really didn't. REALLY REALLY didn't! To be honest, I cried a little. And my mother, who is a little silly, almost cried with me. I didn't quite get why, though, as I was the one who got pricked! But this is my mother… so what can be done?
In spite of the pricks (which, as I said before, I REALLY didn't care for), I quite enjoyed turning two months. I already feel like a young (little?) man. My mummy keeps on saying I look like one. My mummy is quite proud of me and I can't blame her. I was looking at myself in the mirror on my play mat the other day and realised I am really quite cute! I am so cute, I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror. My mother takes advantage of this narcissistic streak of mine and leaves me there, staring at myself, while she has her shower. I don't mind it, to be honest, as she returns smelling nicely of soap and feeling guilty for leaving me on my own for a few minutes. She then gives me loads of kisses and cuddles which is not too bad, no sir!!
Apart from the mirror, I also have a lot of fun playing with the inhabitants of my play mat. I like Mr Eddie, the elephant with his noisy ears and big eyes. I spend hours chatting to him and scrunching his ears. I must confess, this ear scrunching business is a new trick of mine. I showed it to my parents yesterday and they were hysterical, clapping and cheering madly. My parents can be quite embarrassing that way! I don't think I'll show them anything next time!
Also, I've been practicing grabbing the legs of Mr colourful Lion, who is also hanging from my gym. I confess I haven't quite mastered the whole thing, as I sometimes hold him really well, and other times fail miserably. But I am a perseverant little boy and will get it right, eventually. And Mr Lion better be ready, as he has no idea what will hit him when I finally manage to catch him properly!
I also find hilarious the funny faces my parents make just to see me smile. I encourage them with smiles, giggles and little screams, so they know I find them really very funny. Besides, it's always good fun to see your parents making a fool of themselves, just to keep you entertained. Next time, I'll try to convince them to do the same in public. That will definitely make me laugh out loud!
Yesterday my grandma returned to Porto. She was here for two whole weeks spoiling me rotten with cuddles. But that is exactly what grandmas are for, and I loved having her around. She gave me my bath and my bottle, changed my nappies, put me to sleep and held me for hours. And she even had the time to knit a very cool jumper and matching hats. The top is still a little big, but one of the hats already fits. So, you tell me, do I not look cool?
Today, Avó Marilia managed to cross a frozen London to catch a flight back to Porto.
Over the two weeks that she was with us, Thilan has changed (for the better) and has enjoyed the sense of calm and also fun that arrived with her. Not only did Avo Marilia knit what is probably the Grrrreatest jumper (more of this in a future post) but she also brought with her tasty recipes and a new face for Thilan to smile at. Thanks for all the help.
And come back soon Avó!
